I f*%#ed up my knee two years ago (supper hard landing when learning how to jump) and my knee was tost! Anyway, the MRI indicated torn ACL but the physical test indicated otherwise. The doc went into surgery with ACL in mind. After I woke up the doc told me that my ACL was just fine. He told me that I dented my miniscus. He shaved it down (I love the way that sounds) and I was good to go. Make sure that you talk with your doc regarding the options for ACL replacement. I dont the specifics but I do know that their is a big difference in recovery time vs strenght. Sorry to hear about your knee. The Doc's probably right, but in a suprisingly large minority of cases, they're wrong. Regardless dude, get better soon.
