Mark,
I have a gas powered hedge trimmer that I will bring out to trim the shrubs. Just keep the small children and pets out of the way and nobody should get hurt.

You can bring it. But, the port would prefer if we used hand tools. Liability issues....

There will be lots of lopers ready for us.

Kramer, I have sent an email on the grass.

Liability? I'll show you liability, now I'm bringing the following:

2 cubic yards of 3'+ boulders
one dozen helical anchors
20 feet of 1/4 cable
gas powered hilti hammer drill
quart of industrial epoxy
20 cubic yards of topsoil
1 roll of geotextile fabric
50 feet of perf pipe
and ten rolls of sod.

Now THAT is what you need to build a nice launch!!

true pea gravel won't do much for erosion maybe some 3/4 minus. something more angular that won't migrate as easily. with a small bit of concrete dusted in.

Its a round washed "peagravel" that ranges in size from 3/4 to smaller. Should be comfy on the feet!

Update.

The rock has arrived! The forecast is for good weather on Saturday. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Looks like the masses have spoken... The shrubs will stay for now. They will recieve a good healthy trim. We are always looking for other plants and ideas.

Please bring the following:

5 gallon pails for moving small rocks.
gloves
shovels
straps and gear for winching rocks
rock rakes
beer mug
plus anything you think will help out.

Once again thanks to everyone who has made our cleanup possible.

does anyone have a rockbar? i think it could come in very useful trying to get big rocks to move and possibly roll over onto webbing.

For anyone that doesn't know a rockbar is a 6 foot long steel bar about an inch in diameter with a somewhat pointed tip for prying and leveraging rocks out.

I've got a large, heavy, rusty, pry-bar I use for demo of remodels...

I'll bring it and a couple 5 gallon buckets...Not sure how much I can lift with my new wrist...But, I'll make Jackie do the hauling! Wink Razz

I hear that!! I'm shooting more for 11:00 than 12:00. Looks like there should be some light west winds. so it would be really nice to see how the "improved" launch will work.
