Sherry
Can you discribe the WFRC more? How many members, how do you get on it, responsibilities, length of term, etc. What is their purpose? How much weight does the group's opinion hold with the Port? (seems like a lot).
Stevie has become more balanced with more representation. Maybe we need people in every location to step up and get involved with their local agencies/groups who control our beaches/access. As Sherry pointed out, it is additional work and some of these agencies have other major issues/projects besides their waterfront.
The more places we have reps, the better.
Thanks Sherry for your support. Maybe someone could take Sherry under their wings and get her kiting at HR this summer. |

Carol, I got all my info from the website: http://www.portofhoodriver.com/staff/committee.php It could have a little more info about each person.
Sherry, Like I said in the meeting, I'd be happy to volunteer for the Waterfront Rec committee. Brett Kelly is also interested, another BOD on CGKA. We both understand there are other topics that the comittee must address and we're interested and care about those too being that we're both stakeholders in the community. |

Waterfront Recreation Advisory Committee is a standing committee. Standing meaning that it is on-going. The members are nominated and then appointed by the port commission. The current members' terms go through 6/30/09
If you would like more information regarding who is who PM me.
I know that staff works closely with Jim and I understand that he is/was in SPI. The motion caught me a little off guard and we had to "work" through the proper procedures but the commission listened with an open mind and that is what we are suppose to do. |

Could the Waterfront Rec Committee motion the BOD to open/add two new seats on the committee and nominate Brett Kelly and I, Forrest Rae?
Are the Waterfront Rec Committee meetings public? |

Don't think so.....
I think that would have to come via the Commission.
Nominations to replace exiting committee member usually come via the commission as well.
Yes, WRC are public meetings.
Give me some time to work with staff to make sure CGKA is in the loop/heard/represented.
I'd like to think I'm watching out for you as well
PS - PK where's my designation???? I'm thinking "political waterperson" |

| Thanks Sherry. We're definitely going to have to spend some time kiting this summer. You let me know when you want to head down to the beach and I'll make sure you have a good time and are looked after. I'd be happy to give you a lesson in any areas you feel weak in with your kiting. |
