Here are a few of the best shots from our La Ventana trip Christmas week. We kited every day but one and explored La Paz, Todos Santos, and the Los Cerritos surf breaks. We stayed at the brand new and beautifully built Casa Verde right in the middle of Kite Beach. I highly recommend Casa Verde (www.bajmahal.com) as the owners are super friendly, you can check out kayaks, bikes, and the outdoor grill and common kitchen are great. TeePees are an affordable option there, too.
The food was excellent at the local taquerias and resaurants, especially Rincon and Leon's. Don't miss the Mango-ritas at Pablo's bar. You are sure to meet lots of kiters from all over the world.
The conditions were steady but lighter than normal. I spent the week on my 9 'bow, 10 turbo diesel (borrowed from New Wind) and a 13 Fuel. Onad rode the 'bows on his skim and the 17m got plenty of action. Watch out for the spiny sea urchins on all the rocks and bring booties if you are a newbie.
Happy New Year, Onad and Tonski
PS - I ran out of space - See Part II in next post for more shots.

Onad and Tonski-
Any Turbo Diesel comments? Is it the same as the crossbow, but better bar setup and one pump?

You RicoSuave - have you been able to keep the ice off your hair?
As for the TD, You're right on - the bar is clean. Onad rode the 10m & Skim in 13m wind and said the combo is $$. Doyle's sliding stopper bar plug rocks and Onad thinks the TD turns quicker than the XBow. I couldn't tell a difference riding both one after the other.
Happy New Year everyone!

The ice on my hair and snowboarding was just fine until you posted these pictures that almost made me cry… You reminded me I would rather be kiting in the windy, warm, and sunny weather any day. Hum, Anyone know how many days left until the Hood hits 80 degrees again? I need to know so I can make one of those Christmas countdown rings.
Happy New Year
And, Thanks for the pictures to help us make it thru the winter
