I finally worked up the courage to ride out to the bridge from the sandbar and was riding between the bridge and Wells Island. I was having a great time, when my kite inverted and I had to self rescue. There was no way I was getting back to my board. Fortuanately someone (w/ an orange colored helmut) picked it up and delivered it to the sandbar for me. By the time I got up to my kite and started my long sail toward land I had floated upwind of the bridge and knew I was going to be out there a while! That's when Eric (whom I had never met before) took time out of a great session with his wife to tow me to Wells island. I was prepared to swim the rest of the way to Wells, relaunch my kite and body drag to the sand bar. Then Jim Bison rode up in his jet ski and gave me a lift to the new park.
I just wanted to thank you guys for your selflessness. What could've been a two+ hour ordeal turned into a quick trip back to shore. You have much good kite carma coming your way!

Glad to know folk are out there bumping up their Karma and watching out for each other. Great to here you are out pushing yourself, riding a little further upwind!
I avoided the crowds this weekend and had sweet sessions in the Gorge Friday and Coast today!
