I was wondering if you can canoe or raft down the Sandy River. Like if you started at oxbow state park, could you just float down? Anyone know? Is the flow too high, are there rapids?
Thanks.

We've started at the state park a few miles up the river from I-84 and floated on inner tubes in previous summers. There weren't really any rapids to speak of, mostly just had to get up a few times and walk over some small rocks because the water level was too low so your butt would hit em. Not sure what it's like now, but lotsa ppl float down it usually in the summers.

I've done that a few times years ago. (Starting at Oxbow.) Very, very mild rapids later in the Summer. (Class 2 or3 at the worst.) With high water levels, I have no idea how strong the rapids might be. Also, water temp might be pretty frigid still. A boy scout died in the Clackamas a couple of weeks ago due to cold water... (Fell out of the canoe and was overcome by the water temp before he could get out of the water.)
