thanks all for your comments...you all made alot of good points. I made an attempt to rspond to the previous post (thread) but its is now locked for whatever reason I do not know....if kites truly lose 40-50% of their resale value each year...thats the best reason I can think of to upgrade every one or two years...are kite design's still progressing/changing like they were a few years ago>> i suppose none of you would be interested in my 03 RRD type 2 3/4 line convertilbe?? LOL I might have to pay someone to get rid of it....haha thanks again for all your comments.

My experience has been that kites tend to loose about 30% as soon as they are used but they slowly decrease in value after that. It depends allot on what brand you have as well. I typically buy my stuff when it is 5-6 months old and then sell it in a year or two. I have always gotten around 80-90% of what I paid for it.

In the end, just about any kite made these days is a good kite. All depends on what you are looking for really.
