Also, with so much market share you're going to see a lot more for sale than some of the smaller brands.

That is a big factor. Lot of people have them - so that means eventually they will have to be up for sale. People sell for various reasons, upgrading, getting different sizes, leaving the sport, need cash to pay the rent, so on and so forth.

I'd say most people recycle their quiver every year or two. Even if you are sticking with a brand/type of kite, it usually pays off to get the latest generation. Plus kites generally lose 40-50% of their value every year, so if you want to get any resale out of them you got to sell them every couple of years.

I think that many of the pink waroos are fading by now so people really want that bright pink kite feeling back.

"cat's meow"? Maybe. They were cheap and compared performance wise to many of the kites available at that time. There was also an incredible amount of hype so when beginners ere asking "what kite should I buy" I think allot of people said, just get some waroos, they are cheap and they work.

These days, they are not that cheap, and there are better performing kites out there. If your short on cash and need kites, the grab one up. hell, grab 2-3 of them.

Used, who knows how previous owner treated it

I havent had any problems with my 07 Bularoos and havent flown anything that is significantly better than my Bularoos or 08 Waroo, even those that cost twice as much. Dont know where everyone else is buying there kites but tuff to beat $550 for brand new 7m that performs

I just sold my 06 9m waroo for about $200. Pretty much what PKH said, i wanted to move to get something out of it and upgrade.

IMO, waroos are nice kites and fun to ride. The price point they were at up until this year, combine w/ their performance, made them an attractive grab. If you need kites and are going used, and if you can verify that the kites are in decent shape, you will have some fun on the waroos. I like the kites i'm on now better than I did the waroos, but it is more of a marginal difference, and I don't think my new kites are going to necessarily get me more sessions.

I just flew the 08 11 Wahoo and it Rocks!! Very stable and jumps well too. The price is right for sure. Best loaded up the market last year and as a result there is a sever over supply on these kites resulting in a reduced value for price point. Back to you dick for the business report

Luckily, the event was immortalized on video. As a general rule, botching a front roll and looping the kite directly into the water when its blowing 30k with gust in the high 30's, your kite is not going to enjoy it much.

The kite developed the "integrated total response intelligent protection system" (Cabrinha, I am going to register that name). The ITRIPS system consists of a two piece canopy that flares out when subject to wind forces thereby insuring that the user cannot fly the kite in dangerous conditions.

Only authorized personnel at airtime should attempt to modify the ITRIPS system

this thread is Toby

It seems to me to be a kind of flamebait. Looking at the Classifieds I don't see that there are really more Waroos for sale than anything else.

Less gear, more kiting!
