Sun Jun 29, 08 7:32 pm Abs sore from kiting? |
|
|
Have any of you guys/gals noticed your abs being sore after several hours of kiting? I've started to notice that after a lengthy session, my abs start to burn a little. The next day is a little worse, but it seems to go away in a couple days just like any normal workout.
So, do any of you notice this? Am I just riding way to rigid? Should I be relying more on my harness? Perhaps I need to put my 24hr Fitness membership to more use! Thoughts? |

Used to get that when I took long breaks from kiting... Don't get it so much anymore. Definately feels like a good ab workout though! No need to do crunches! |

After the downwinder on Friday...my abs hurt so bad they feel ok today I think Jones helped strech them out.

Back home in St. Louis, I often kite about once a month, so my abs get sore everytime. The soreness does not occur if I get second session within a week of the last session. This doesn't occur when windsurfing.

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I was trying a couple different techniques at SI on Friday to see if anything would lesson the strain, but nothing really worked. I guess the instant fix is just to ride more! I'm sure I can convince my girlfriend that the only way for me not to complain about how sore I feel after kiting is to just kite more. I'm sure she'll understand. |

| I used to get sore abs. But now they are steel. Thanks to kiting. I'll let you punch mine if you sign a waiver not to sue if you get hurt. Of course the beer belly kind of protects them. |

| yea, just look at any pro kiter, they're all super toned (no homo), because kiting is a great workout fo you core and arms, especially unhooked riding. |

USE YOUR ABS!!!
It is good support for your back. If you jump just relying on your harness you put a lot more strain on your back, so keep the bas, tight....soreness is your friend in this case...
when you get used to it, the soreness will disappear, but keep on tightening the abs...

My abs are sore after kiting yesterday and Saturday. Then again, so are my legs, arms, and back.
Gawd I'm old.... |
