I can't go coastal today. I'm headed to RR now, and Stevie if that's not working. RR is very rideable w/ high water.

As much as I would like to hit RR today, not much wind is predicted (peak 10mph at 2pm and then dropping off). Kyle, are you seeing something different?

Wow the ikitesurf forecast really took a major swing over night. I'd been hoping the island would work again.

The Fremont sensor says 7-11 NW already at 9:21am, and usairnet shows the typical PM bump forecast, so maybe people stuck in ptown will still get lucky.

The offshore buoys are forecast to go mid/upper 20's and the columbia river bar is already showing N22-25 so the coast is probably the place to be today.

MM5 is guessing that the north coast will be strongest at N15 knots by mid-day.

Sunday looks like shit for kiting anywhere in the NW, but it could be good for paragliding at Area B (north of Ft.Stevens) or Ecola (where I'm flying in my icon pic).

Looks like a bunch of contradictions. I'm gonna roll the dice and hope for the best, leaving in half an hour. Give me a call if you want to meet up.

The link you posted is for the 11am forecast. Change the time in the chart to 2pm or 5pm and it pretty much agrees with the MM5 forecast with is usually reliable (as much as forecasts can be), especially for same day forecasts.

I'd bet that the best wind today will be up by the jetty/ft.stevens, but places with geography that likes north winds, like Manzo, might be good too.
