Talk to Stringy, if your really nice, he may make you something to fix that with his machinery that I have seen him fix before. But be real nice....mabey beer and a couple of bucks.
I know that he fixed something similar for me.

I looked at the best website and the stopper looks the same as the previous year. The bar has a new feature with the stainless steel dugout and that is probably the culprit. I'm unsure whether my stopper design can remedy the problem but its worth a shot at least to review the bar and give you some feedback. I'll check into the design on a 2008 control bar down at Wiley's and see why that stopper is being a problem.
I do make some stoppers for many of the local riders, both in the gorge and up in Seattle. My most recent design was intended for 5 line systems however it works well with 4 line systems too. I think it should resolve the problem and works with just about any bar out there. It just depends on the size of rope that runs through the bar. It shouldn't matter what size hole goes through the bar as this stopper does not rely on dugout hole size. I have made this stopper for both 1/4" and 3/16" rope. I believe the best bar uses 3/16" rope.
One last thing, this stopper is designed to hold in position and if you need to depower your bar, you just push the bar away and it will move up the rope.
Here's an image of my stopper.
Designed, tested, and produced in Seattle.
