Now that I have your attention, what do most people use to lube pump. Been switching pumps between kites, now all need attention. Tried some Super Teflon lube but it's a bit sticky. Cleaned that off and used silicon spray. Seems to work okay for the now, not sure of long lasting effect. Looking for best known stuff. Thanks,

-pat

I use some old Rockshox Judy Butter for mountainbike forks, works great.
Also, if you are in a pinch on vacation you can put some Sunscreen on it to get you by.

Go down to Home Depot and pick up a small plastic bottle of air tool oil. I is a light weight oil that does not cause rubber to swell or distort. It works perfect! Just a few drops will do ya.

They really don't lube those things well from the factory!

Mine was squeaking and being a general POS. I was working on my car, so I greased 'er down w/ some left over high pressure synthetic grease (the red stuff for bearings)... for better or worse! I figured it'd eat the seals, but no problems for about 9 months now.

I also lubed the shaft w/ some silicon spray.

Silicon based is probably best if you don't want things to become destroyed.

While we're talking about pumps, is it possible to fix one that only pumps one way?
I've got a few of those...

Generally when this happens a round piece has come loose inside. Try unscrewing it and see if you see an extra piece laying around inside the pump. If so - just plug it back in - it has to me on more than one ocasion.
