I know no one wants to admit they ride Best kites around here but due to bularoos being discontinued they are getting hard to find so any info would be appreciated. I need to make a decision soon about what 7m to buy |

I think the bularoo rides 2 sizes smaller than posted; just like the 07 yarga. That's not a bad thing it's just the way they size. Most brands (incl. the waroo) 7-9 kites kites pull like a 10 bularoo.
I spent an entire week back in Feb '07 riding several flavors of best kites including the yarga, the bularoo, the waroo and the waroo-pro aboard the odyssey. The 9m waroo kept me planing and without working the kite whereas the 10m bularoo I had to work; and was still slogging. I own a couple of waroos, but if I went with the bularoo--their one pump design is (was) really good.
I have a yarga 9 with the one pump and I love it. This year however, the kind folks at best, discouraged me from getting the one pump-- as there have been multiple reports and documentation of leaks... Last edited by Kraemer on Tue Jun 03, 08 9:11 am; edited 1 time in total |

Thank you, So from your experiance what would you do, I allready have a 10 Bully and a 13 Waroo... would you go with the 7waroo instead of the Bularoo if you were sticking with best kites? BTW I like the grunt of the Bullies for my rideing.
If you have insight as far as other brands just send me a pm. Last edited by Ike on Mon Jun 02, 08 9:08 pm; edited 1 time in total |

unless you are just trying to save money with a discounted bularoo, 08 waroo for sure. much more evolved design, big improvements this year, no funky one pump system. i thought the 10m bularoo wasn't that great and didn't buy any. 07 waroos also kind of sucked. new 7m waroo is tied with another model as the best kite i have flown. |

My 10m Bull is my favorite kite. Mine definitely does not ride smaller than other 10m kites as I am occassionally out on the water with my Bull after other 10m and 12m's have retired to the beach. I also know for certain that my 10m Bularoo does not oversheet nearly as easily as my 9m and 13m 2007 Waroos. My hunch, though, is that the smaller the kite size, the less difference between the two kites.

Gabe, can you elaborate on the more evolved improvements of the 2008 Waroo and why it's the best kite you've flown? Did you compare it to the HP? |

ethan, i haven't tried the HP, because it's just not my style. 08 waroo is kind of like the best characteristics of the 06 waroo and bularoo, with all the complaints fixed, and some flying characteristics more like a c kite--in a good way. i only rode the bularoo 1 day, but thought they really compromised the depower on it, not much power in turns, and not as lively as it could be. but a 10m is kind of big anyways. and i wanted nothing to do with their one pump contraption. i think it was popular b/c the 07 waroo was so wacky.
08 waroo brings great canopy stability, better depower, a bit more juice in turns, better construction, more constant power through transitions. but best thing is that it edges upwind more like a c kite. can lock it on the stopper and edge it well forward in the gusts. 06s were almost impossible, 07s had some of this, but they had other drawbacks. 08 finally really works. smooths out gusts, lets you ride with less bar throw, makes trim and backstall way less sensitive, let's you focus more on riding and less on sheeting. other companies have done this as well with newer kites, and it's a great direction for flat kites to go.
anyways, not sure it's worth the upgrade or not, but for a new purchase i would certainly go with the new model. |

FYI, I don't think this is correct. The Bull was designed after the waroo... but heavier duty and less stalling. So the sizes should be comparable, but the 08 waroo is getting pretty good reviews.
I would try the 08 7m... the new VP2 bridle is supposed to be pretty cool. |
