lake pepin can have monster swell with south wind. depending on which side of the river you are on (wisco/minne) you might be able to ride other wind directions too. plus it's wide there (lake pepin) so the current is not so swift and the sediment/shit settles out and the water isn't too bad.
northern iowa has some good spots, clear/spirit lakes get a lot of wind through the summer (the high planes). windancing.com has info i think
its been a cold spring as far as i know (warming a bit last two weeks), i'm guessing the river is still below 50 |
