Strongest wind Saturday at Jones beach with west 21-25. Swell to Hood River strongest Sunday and Monday in the 22-26 range. The marine push starts on Saturday and Jones Beach builds to west 21-25 in the afternoon. Central Gorge sites should see 18-22 late in the day. West wind increases to 22-26 on Sunday from Swell to Hood River. On Monday West wind in the 22-26 range continues mainly in the Central Gorge.
Saturday:
The thermal trough moves northward Friday night drawing cooler air up along the coast. During the day the thermal trough shifts inland and onshore gradients increase. The strongest gradients should be across the coast range. Jones Beach will see the strongest wind with west wind in the 21-25 range in the afternoon. Sauvie Island will be NW 12-16 but gusty. Sites from Stevenson to Hood River should be west in the 19-23 range. Lighter wind in the Eastern Gorge. Coastal sites remain light with SW wind in the 8-12 range. West swell 8 feet at 12 seconds.
Sunday:
Upper level flow from the WSW increases. Central Gorge sites look pretty solid as the west side cools and onshore gradients increase. West wind in the 22-26 range from Swell to Hood River. Late in the day west wind 21-25 moves out east but maybe not as for as Arlington. Jones Beach west 14-18. Stevenson west 18-22. Coastal sites remain light with west to NW wind in the 11-15 range. West swell 5 feet. |
