Why so many small surfboards at the Spit?
Just about every time I kite at the Spit, I see more small surfboards than anywhere else that I have been. I like the idea of riding a surfy in the swell, but have not given it a go yet. I tried riding my 6’ surfy in the river and found it to just like polesmurfing only with a kite, bounced around pretty good in the CHOP!
Any poster/lurkers have any experience and/or words of wisdom regarding size, style, and shape? |

| Any thoughts about a twin front strap on a small surfboard? I have a 5'3" North Pacific I've yet to invest enough time in to really nail my gybes. I know that strapless is "cool" these days in the mags but it seems if you are going to do straps make the angle a little easier to get in and out of- maybe my windsurf gybe memory might come back... any thoughts? |
