Hey Everyone,
Does anybody have some experience in Boise Id. at Lucky Peak? I have a son in law who wants to learn and was wondering if it is a good spot to teach? Is there good wind etc..
He is unable to take time off from work making it easier for me to travel to him.

Thanks
Very Happy

Ron,

If you are talking snow, go East (about 45 minutes from Boise) to the Camas Praire area. The terrain there is awesome and the wind is good from all directions. Hook up with Monty from SnowKiteSoldier fror all the details.

My brother lives in Boise and a few summers ago I went jetsking with him at Lucky Peak and there were a couple windsurfers out there at the time.

Check out the kitesites podcast on itunes. They did two episodes on Lucky peak and a few guys ride there.

Here is the link go to the bottom and there are two episodes about Lucky peak

Many options in the area! Definitely Lucky Leak early in the morning all summer. Morning wind is usually from 530 to 8am. Otherwise try lake lowell in Nampa, CJ Strike by mountain home, or indian creek on I84. Pretty rare to get it at lucky leak other than the am for wind. Lucky Leak Am wind is consistent from the NE most mornings when its clear at night and scheduled to be hot the next day! Just get up and go early to Barkley Bay and you should see a crew of poleboarders and kites.
