So now that we have ads are we moving on from gay and now calling stuff fruity? Not that I mind - I was just curious?

I wrote fruity because I didn't want to gay bash and not because of the banners. I don't think the banner thing was started until after. Anyway, i suppose its still the same thing- gay is gay.

So my revised rule of thumb is if there is a gojoe, give 30 ft clearance unless they are up wind of you, then add another 20 ft.

Excellent rule of thumb i love being given lots of room, especially at crowded spots like Stevenson!! Everyone please take note.

Yeah it looks really naff but it works great and personally i'd rather be riding than dragging around searching for my board - especially when it's cold and no one else is out. It doesn't stop the need to be able to drag just reduces it. Wish OR would make 'em a bit tougher though - i'm on my 3rd all replaced by OR but still says something about durablility.

PS apparently OR has stated that for '09 a limited edition nwkite.com version will look more like a unicorn horn..............

I think the other big part of looking for a board besides body dragging, is using the kite to lift you up out of the water, to get a good look around over the swells. river swells anyway, this has worked well for me as a beginner last summer. As far as just being there to mark you as a noob so people give you space, looks like it would work well.
