I'm going to Mt. Ashland for the snowkiting event this weekend. I have a room reserved in a nearby hotel - something like 10 miles away or so.

If anyone is interested in carpooling or splitting the cost of the room let me know.

Terremoto - still on for Mt.Ashland? I may drive down myself if you're not able to come back sunday, but we could still split the room cost. Anyone else interested in splitting costs please call Michael at 612 868 0393.

Winds are going to be pretty light. We've been getting fresh snow thruout the week. to bad the storms didnt hold out for just one more day Evil or Very Mad
but there should still be enough wind to ride. If not the ski resort is always an option. (bring 5 cans of food for sunday)

i posted an update on the snowdaze post:
Quote:

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. West northwest wind between 9 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Looks like the low pressure will indeed pass thru by saturday. Leaving us with NW winds. The original venue location is on the southside, So we will have to move further towards the summit(which is a lil further hike). The summit area is more intermediate-advanced, due to the steepness of the slope. For those of you who this will be their first time, it will be tricky to get the concept of riding downhill/upwind....Vise versa for going uphill/upwind.

We will continue as planned, But we will not be able to some of the activity's we wanted to do.

ON A SIDE NOTE:....
sunday is ride against hunger day on Mt.A
Mt. Ashland will host "Ski and Ride Against Hunger Day" on Sunday, March 30th. Skiers and snowboarders will receive a FREE all day lift ticket with a minimum donation of five cans of nonperishable food. The recipient of this community event is ACCESS Inc., a Community Action Agency. Last year 182 participants generated 1050 pounds of food equaling 1000 meals. Mt. Ashland donated $7,098 in lift tickets to guests.

Terremoto,

seamonkey and I are talking about carpooling, would you want to split a room 3 ways on Saturday night?

Anyone know where to find a # for the s.oregon addicts to check up on the event?

Thanks

Hit up Sol-Fly - he's pretty good at responding to PM's. Also, check out the following thread - it gives contact info for S. Oregon addicts.

Regarding the room - I'll send you a PM.

If anyone has any questions about tomarrow's event , call Matt at 541-285-0846. Skilja-call me by midnight if you still want to go. Things are looking good. The acess is snowcat-groomed so snowboard boots will work just fine. Your number did'nt come up on my phone so I can'nt call you.
