I think a big shout out should go to the Port of Skamania for working with the kiteboarder community and helping us to improve the conditions at the launch.
I know that the Port has many other things to worry about and I think it says allot about an agency when they go out of their way to help out the little guys.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to say that these actions do not go unappreciated.
Looking forward to a great summer at Stevenson!!

On behalf of the Port - Thank You! It's nice to have the feedback and all of the volunteer help to make things happen. I'll relay your thoughts and the pic's from the other thread at our next meeting.
Personally, I'm sorry I couldn't get home to participate but the $500 airfare made it just a tad expensive. Had to work in Houston last week and have to be here on Monday for a follow up meeting. I promise I'll contribute though by cleaning up the area on a regular basis throughout the season! Looking forward to seeing first hand the work you guys did. The stepping stones look pretty nice!

| I'm assuming everybody got a chance to meet Karl? How did he like the look of the place at the end of the day? |

I think Karl was happy, there were a few changes he wasn't sure of but by the end of the day he was enjoying a beer with the rest of us.
Something to keep in mind: Mark helped bring everyone out there, but their wasn't any one person out there making decisions. Everyone came together and worked as a team and decided things as a group.
I got to say seeing a 20 person long rock line was impressive! and with the new stairs and west side of the big rock cleared, a lot has been done to ease the bottlenecks of the spot. |
