PKH and I went to Costa Rica a few years ago. What a great place Very Happy
Kited in Bahia Salinas most of the time. Here is the write up PKH did right after the trip.

You could contact these guys. They might have a wind sensor they use.

During their main season (now) its WINDY! Imagine Rooster Rock Easterly conditions all day and night. Make sure you bring a kite at least as small as 6m, maybe even a 5m. You will probably spend the most time on a 7m, and if you are lucky you will have a couple of 9m seshs. The evening sessions are usually the best for lighter winds.

The good news about it is you are guaranteed wind, and its a beautiful country. Very Happy

Be safe and talk to the locals!

cool thanks for the links! i go to santa teresa twice a year for surfing but last time i was there in march i saw kites, so i'm going to take a kite or two. i dont think its that windy down south, as it is in the northern parts. hopefully the wind will make its way down to me!!!

It can get windy, but the predominante wind direction for the whole west coast is offshore, so be mindful of the direction. If you have a chance to go to Bahia Salinas though its pretty sweet. We also kited Lake Arenal which is beautiful, just don't end up downwind in the jungle. Very Happy
