Has anyone recently been to Tillamook forrest? I wanted to go mountain biking today - wasn't sure if it would be mud bogging or not - we've had a lot of relatively warm and dry temps. Anyone know what the ground is like today?

Syncline (aka suicide hill) whould be dry this time of year. It is mostly a downhill trail though. You can go FLYING down the lower parts of the trail. I recorded a speed of 53 on my computer there a couple years ago. The hikers just LOVE seeing bikes blow by at 50mph + LOL.

Oh yeah, Tilamook this time of year... Tila-muck.

Forest Park is still pretty sloppy, so I'm sure that Tillamook Forest is at least as wet if not wetter.

There are areas of Syncline that you can ride as loops. Downhillers are just lazy.

Uh huh, downhillers are lazy. Come up to Whistler this summer with us and descend 30,000' vertical feet of some of the gnarliest trails around in a single day and the decide if downhillers are lazy.

Truth be told, we just don't like the look and feel of lycra

I drove through Tillamook Forest last Sunday and there was still some snow on the ground at higher elevations so I would imagine it is very wet.

It was a beautiful day - I would have loved to get out on my bike - but I decided to abandon the plan. Hopefully it will dry up soon.
