SBC Kiteboard magazine has posted all of it's 2008 Kite Reviews online.
New for this year, the "Reality Check" was added. It's a look at what the testers agreed are the shortcomings for each model, and the idea for it came from reader input.
We are always looking for constructive feedback to make the tests more useful. SBC Kiteboard will be starting the third round of 2008 kite tests in April, and your feedback for improving the tests is welcome. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help us make the magazine and website better.

The Link is an 07 kite. The review is online with the 07's.

John,
Just thought I would provide a little feedback on the kite review. I enjoyed it very much even though I am not in the market for a new kite. The best thing about the review was the "reality check" or real world performance section. Often times when magazines review kites or other goods they simply re-spew the manufacturers hype or add text that doesn't really say a whole lot. Which I find tremendously annoying.
I realize that magazines need to sell ad space but to what end? It would be nice to see a magazine say.."the performance was lackluster at best..your money is probably best spent elsewhere unless you find a really goods deal, etc". Another thing that is always helpfull is a table illustrating how each kite performed in each category (turning speed, low end, relaunch, etc.)
With all the Hype out there, I think that allot of riders really appreciate the honest reviews. Kudos to SBC! |
