After 2 weeks in LaV and a week in P-town we finally made it back to SPI and Spring has Sprung! Yesterday about 20 kiters gathered at the jetty and did down-winders. Waves were 4-8 ft and a blast. I was on my 5 and most guys were on 7's. After the downwinder to the condo, I caught this unknown kiter from our 9th floor balcony. This angle makes the waves look small, but this close shore break is head high. Sorry, not alot of effort on the pic taking but here's some candy. Not as tropical as Maui, but still loads of fun (and cheaper!)

hi.... I'm fairly sure this is my friend Petra....who is down in S.Padre right now. She works at SouthPadreIslandkiteboarding...
She flys Flexifoils + has a red/blue Aggression board....I just sent her this link to see if she thinks herself as well
And if it's not...great shots and I wish I were there !!

Not sure if this is her, but the board should tell. They got out here and I went down to catch the kite, but someone beat me to it by the time I went 9 floors down an elevator. So I didn't actually talk to em as they were at the next condo and busy with the OG who was asking info questions.

hi carol...oh yeah !! that's an Aggression board for sure...
Between the Flexifoil bar and board....
One of the biggest things that clued me in that it might be Petra was in the last photo...how she had her head turned... I talked to her on the phone last nite and she said she was getting ready for a turn at the bottom..( i recognize that stance from all the times I've seen her at Brigantine)....
And here's the last 2 nice photos!!
Very cool...
Hope you guys can hook up for a down-winder. All my friends are diggin Padre. I've never been yet..maybe next year!
