| Careful in the backcountry. Set off a big slide above Mirror Lake on some fairly mellow slopes near skibowl - went all the way down 2' to a crust layer. the telemetry was reading 18" new at skibowl but more like 30" above Mirror. Breaking trail was retarded - the slide was some scary shit - also half a dozen gumbies rubber side up on the road - looked like most made it. |

This is the book I'm reading, and I'd recommend it for anyone wanting to go into the back country who hasn't learned about avalanches yet or can't afford a course.
