I was checking the local forecast in SPI this morning and was pretty impressed with how accurate the wind/weather model was for the front that came in last night. Take a look at the graph below and look at the dashed purple line in the background and the purple wind direction arrow up above. The forecast started showing this switch in direction and strength a couple of days ago.
The actual arrival of the front and change in direction was about an hour later than forecast but I think that's still damn close to predict! And the wind speed is just about spot on what the forecast said.
We closed out the beach again last night and got off the water just after 6 as it got dark. I'm glad we weren't out there when the wind switched direction and turned on!
The last four days Becca and I have been on big kites out riding in 3/2 shorties (Carol is in CA for the week) but it looks like it's time to drag out the full suit and the 9m. The temperature outside dropped about 20 degrees over the course of an hour last night! It's 55 and drizzling this morning. Feels just like home.

| Compare the actual speed & direction to the forecasted speed & direction. (Forecast is dashed purple line in the background and purple arrow up top). |

I'm living in Austin now and have been riding Corpus. I plan on making it down to SPI next month and I'll get ahold of you all.

Cool! We'll be here most of January except for the week of Jan 19th through the 26th as we're going to La Ventana for the race and kite expo.
