Next month, The Kiteboarder Magazine is co-sponsoring the annual La Ventana Kite Race and KiteXpo Demo event in Baja Sur, Mexico from January 25th through the 28th. This week, we have two special guests: founder of the La Ventana Classic Kite Race and owner of Palapas Ventana, Tim Halter, and Kent Forrest, the event emcee and volunteer. They will be joining the ASnews.net and The Kiteboarder Magazine podcast to fill us in on the details of the Kite Race, Short Course Buoy Racing, Kite Loop competition and old school contest along with the Free KiteXpo demo event which will have 16 brand represented. Proceeds will benefit the local school and health clinic.

hey everybody mark your calender for this event. if you think you are fast, i mean really fast, then this is your race. for the past 2 years Mark Bevis has been victorious and beaten red bull sponsored riders. he is the local town hero and his girlfriend Mary has won the past 2 years in a row too on the girls division beating many of those sponsored riders also. this year, many sponsored riders like Jessie Richman are going to try and beat the town hero. so come on down, enjoy the margaritas at pablo's and stop by our house because we are at the finish line.

hey there. i wish that i could report 7m winds everyday down here, but it's been pretty much the opposite. talking to tony in south padre island, it sounds like he's getting way better winds than us. becca almost has her surface pass because she gets 6 days on the water and we haven't even had 6 straight days of wind. it's been cloudy and rainy. the rain keeps the desert green so we don't get any thermals, so if it's windy, it has to be from an el norte.
we're hoping that december will be a change. cross your fingers for your nwkite friends who are only here for a week or two. hope that they bring the wind.
