Sun Nov 18, 07 11:59 am Kiting Africa? |
|
|
I am going to Africa in January for a kayaking trip and contemplating bringing my 11m Fuel and board. Just not sure whether it is going to be more of a pain in the ass than its worth. I will be around S. Africa, Mozambique, and Madagascar and quite a bit of time inland.
Does anyone know if there are consistent winds in that part of the world? Experience? Have other kiters been there? Or a place online to research the winds?
thanks! |

A buddy of mine, originally from Zimbabwe has kited in Mozambique. The beaches there look beautiful from the pictures he brought back. He'd never leave for Africa without kiting gear. He's always talking about how great Cape Town is and how most people there own a 5m and 7m and wait until afternoon for the wind to really start cranking. PM me if you want and I can put you in touch.
Cheers,
