Was keeping track of the forecast for this satruday, seems god until now, it looks to be turning into a storm with gusts up to 40 kts, anybody else have any input? ideas of where to go? I'm really getting sick of the no wind - then storm pattern. is it ever just right?

Forrest...? Chim in..

Blake and I were thinking how sweet it would be to have an indoor cable park here in the NW.

I think there are plans in the works or something...

I looked into the financials of a cable park a couple years back, and it would be pretty tough to make the #'s work in the PNW. You are looking at least $1m for equipment costs, not including real estate. Putting that under a roof and that number gets even bigger

Bretty (TinyE) and I were talking about hitting something around Pacific City on Saturday if it's windy. With "SOUTH 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON" wind forecasted, we should be able to kite something, even if its between the rain spells.

I'm supposed to head down there Wednesday, but might take off Monday night to ride Tuesday if the forecast looks decent (is it supposed to be raining?). Florian, what's your schedule like?

Looks like the beach will be dodgy tomorrow - SE ~30mph @ noon then swinging west. Maybe if you could get there early you might do alright in the morning.

looks like it will be good:
http://magicseaweed.com/Otter-Rock-Surf-Report/317/detailedLongRange/us/
though this forecast makes it seem a bit more sketch:
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/total_forecast/marine.php?marine=PZZ255

I'm going to Newport tomorrow, hope to be on the water by noon. My dad is going to be there too, opening up a possibility of a downwinder from Yaquina head(light house) to otter rock.
Anybody else think they might be there? would fun to have at least another kiter out there.

I'll be in the Pacific City area for the Thanksgiving weekend. Let me know if anyone is around, would be cool to hook up with someone.

it's windy here. Best place for se winds is the pond past area D. Find the bird observatory and walk the trails east. Stay in the pond and out of the mouth of the columbia R. works best se,e winds 20-40mph. might get it on mon and tues.

So much moving water, the ocean is huge today. Winds super variable. I got out on a buggy early this afternoon until it dropped when a huge CuNimb came through soaking everyone. A few buggiers hittin pretty good speeds 40-50mph. Landboarders were around. I didn't see anyone rig for water, but the SE looks good for pond sessions mon and tues.

I got a call from a dude off of cornell, he said a few kiter were heading to brown middle school off cornelius for some land kiting.

I'm heading to s.jetty ponds mon and teus. Since they moved the clatsop spit wind sensor I've been getting weird reports.

got there and the wind died as soon as i had my kite up, got washed around by the waves pretty good, tried the bigger kite, more of the same, been spending the last couple hours cleaning all the sand and salt water off my kites and gear, and getting it to dry. All in all not really worth, should havee gotten there a few hours earlier. Better luck next time. The dry suit was definately nicer than a wetsuit. (did the pump up thing too, looked pretty funny)

What drysuit did you get? I'm bringing mine down too. Wanna see how it really holds up in the surf if we go out...
