nice story...what a nice attitude from the surfer. This is the attitude we need to project....we're in their realm and not the other way around.
Lest session I had I saw a shark, only a small one, and I almost landed up the poor bugger, but it must have sensed me coming because it sped off before I hit the water...funny though it was in about 3 feet of water...way on the inside of the reef.. I t was only a small on though...maybe 5 feet.

the shark i saw was est. 15ft, going against the current and outside the breaks. picture your 3-seat sofa, then add a tailfin....and a mouth
i was coming onto a nice 6-8ft face, smacked the lip and glanced over the other side of the wave, lo and behold  by then i was already cruz'n with speed and didnt care to look back.
i bet those lil buggers like the inside reefs, nice and protected.

Was that out by Hawaii Kai the other day? I'm glad I didn't see him...  Yeah, I know they're there, but what I can't see can't scare the shit out of me, right? 
Thanks again for hooking me up with the launch spot Alex! Awesome flat water session! The waves looked pretty cool; I'm going to have to learn to ride waves soon...
