Those google map spots look sweet. Access to them could be an issue. Maybe park @ the Corbett exit (fishermen park near the onramp)and hike along the shore to a good launch spot ? There is no good place to pull off 84 west of Corbett for quite a few miles, and at that point, getting to the river would be a long hike through the brush.

Much higher water level in that pic... looks like enough shoulder to park. EB side looks about the same.

So is it legal to just pull over and park on the shoulder of the freeway or is that some "emergency only" parking? Of course you could always pull the "Officer, I had to go rescue my hypothermic friend drifting out in the river!" line if you had to.

Honetsly, I'm going to try to get there around 3 or 4 myself...
It might get lighter (it always does - at least most of the times) by 4....
But look at the bright side (if your coming from Portland), It's not more than a 15-30 minute drive (give or take).... Wink

Look for the Black Hummer.... Wink

I just got back from riding at Bridal Veil. I was on my 7 waroo, wished i'd had a smaller kite. It was extremely windy, especially gusty on the OR side better out in the river itself. Pain in the a*** trying to self land. The wind didn't seem to be backing off much yet, should be great this PM. Windy, warm and sunny!!
