Is it possible...? Confused
Today - East winds later this afternoon/evening....Any thoughts?

Tomorrow for sure....Might rain also...Bring rain gear....
Thinking about calling sick 1/2 day tomorrow....
Maybe downwinder from Dalton to Rooster....The sand bar looks mammoth just east of rooster.

Just a thought... Wink

No I think I'm good. Probably would be better off on my '07 13 or '05 7 which I refuse to ride! Got my Lunacy too, just no G10 fins, so I won't be on it either... Confused

WTF are we doing inside/online with this beautiful weather? Cool

What do you need fins for? You can practice some sweet moves without fins. After hitting the slider without fins for a while I realized you can ride just fine without them and trying new moves is easier since you can slide around any which way and land sloppy. Get out there and have fun!

haha, shit, I can't go from riding my '06 Pro-X with the older style Brunotti fins that hook fuckin' psychotically, to riding the Lunacy with its OE fins (feels a lot "skatier" and I know it locks up more than most boards).

I get out of work at 3:30...The Girlfriend has class tonight....
Takes me 10 minutes to get to the house (5 minutes if I run lights)...5 minutes to load kite gear, feed the pooch - let the cat outside....So I'm thinking if I drive fast, I should be at rooster by 4:30....
Something tells me it might blow well into the evening...
If I go, I'm crossing my fingers I won't bump into any of those hairy fat ass ugly village people wearing there birthday suits....

I got out to Rooster at 12:30. Wind was average about 25... Lulls to 15 with gusts up to 30 or so. Around 2:15 or so I got blown off the water on my 11m Rev. The wind was easily in excess of 35; but that only lasted 20 or 30 minutes... I went back out on my 7m T2, a little light for that kite considering I weigh 215 plus wetsuit and wet impact vest. It worked OK except I slogged in the lulls so I switched to a Glide. Should have left the Rev out at the beach. (I had deflated it and put it in the car...)

I left about 5:00, still blowing about 20... Overall a great day! I was the only one out there until 3:00, then another Kiter and 2 windsurfers showed up. As I was leaving I saw a couple of other guys rigging up by the Volleyball courts. Where was everyone today? I've never seen such good conditions with noboby there?

If you haven't tried it yet, I'd definitely recommend the dawn patrol sesh at Rooster when it's a classic AM nuke/PM fade setup. Get there just slightly before the sun breaks over the rim of the gorge and you'll be riding in some of the steadiest wind of the day. Rig one size smaller than normal for the conditions if you have a bigger board, switch to a small board when it comes up and see how long you can hang on. Roll out like nothing happened...just as everyone else is showing up.

Will have to give the dawn patrol a go. Winds on the pyscho side at RR- went from 10 to 30+ while I was self launching - not a problem till I hit some frictionless mud and skated acrross something nasty (glass or shell) and filleted my foot.

Shay joined in the sub-optimal fest - very nice butter water above sand island but sort of relegated to mowing the lawn - the up and down made it dicey to try much of anything in the micro pond water.

No complaints for Oct - 65 and sun even showed itself.

We got there around 3:30 - sailed to about 5 - wind was pretty f@#**'d up the whole time - never really faded - figured we bank the session before I planted my head in the wet sand - thought about grabbing the skim but probably would have eaten death. Did look mellower down by the volleyball court.

I didn't even see you guys up there... Did you downwind it from Dalton or hike in?

The wind down by the stairs wasn't so bad. Up and down a lot, but not super punchy like HR was Friaday afternoon. The water was pretty nice too. Some baby swell to play in. Very Happy

plenty of sand? maybe dawn patrol is the ticket tomorrow... Stevenson is still blowing 25+ as of 8:30 this evening, so it will probably just nuke all night. Little cloudy, but I have gotten pretty good seshs on cloudy east wind days.

Lots of sand. Very Happy That's why I didn't bother heading to the Volleyball courts... I just went straight out the second to the last stairway. 'Course, it might all blow away tonight! Laughing
