Isotonic (0.9%) saline is made from ~ 1 tsp salt (sea salt is best but can use kosher salt, too) in 16 oz. of water. Hypertonic saline up to ~3x the isotonic may be better for some as it reduces mucous membrane swelling. You can try 2-3 tsp. of salt in 16 oz. which is closer to the ocean's ~ 3.5% saline.
