I had an idea for lost and found items, because not everyone checks this forum.

What if we put up a post in the sand spit where people could write on items they lost/found.

The biggest issue I see is making the post weather resistant. If it was a piece of paper then it will get ruined with rain. If it was a white board or something it will get washed away with rain.

I have seen books with paper covered in plastic at the top of mountains to log who has made it to the top of the mountain - I have seen these books last more than 10 years.

Ideas anyone? Good idea? Bad idea? Any better ideas?

For people who didnt already know: The sign that is at the sandbar is kinda like the lost and found, so if you find something just leave it there.

I've seen people do this - however, I have known stuff to get stolen from there. A buddy of mine lost a control bar - someone said that they left it at the sign and then when he went to pick it up - it was gone. Unfortunately people do take things that have been lost Sad
