We are still adding in some trickling donations, but I just wanted to announce the total amount raised for Kiteboarding 4 Cancer and our partnering cancer research and awareness organizations as of midnight tonight .....
Let me remind everyone that our goal was $30,000....
We more than doubled that!!
$62,000!!!!!!!!!
This is amazing!! Thanks everyone for all of their fundraising time and efforts, and to all who went the distance yesterday. We will post detailed distance and fundraising results in the next day or two....
Thank you so much to all the volunteers for all of their work yesterday!! We couldn't have pulled off such an awesome event without their help!
Well-deserved props to...
> Katie & Jason Clack from Jetty Island Kite & Skim and Slingshot for putting on a killer BBQ ALL DAY!!
> Melissa for setting up and coordinating the silent auction!!
> Janet for running the Jet Ski all day!!
> Nicole for being the dunk target and running the dunk tank for the kids!!
> Traci, Tracy, Roxanna, and Nicole's Mum for running registration and the KB4C table!!
> Jerry and Magen for working the BBQ with the Jetty Island crew!!
> Arla for handling all the last minute tasks and running around!!
> Aliza, Terri, Christine, and Jackie for counting laps from the party island!
and all who helped put up the tents and tear down on Saturday!!
THANK YOU!! _________________ Cascade Kiteboarding

Good job for putting on such a great event. Can't wait for next year event.
Wanted to say thanks to Naish for offering up such a great fundraiser prize, and props to 2nd Wind for letting me "Demo" their REV all day during the endurance race! Thanks Pepi and Naish!
Are you guys going to post lap totals? I wanted to see how many laps everyone made.
Did some quick measurements:
Event site to WS bridge, 1 mile
WS bridge to upwind marker, 0.6 miles
back to event site: 0.6 miles
So Phil and Cory, if they only made 1 reach to each marker was 2.2 miles times 50+ laps = over 110 miles of riding in 7 hours! Amazing work guys! |

trevor you are a rock star for raising so much money!
This was truly the biggest kiteboarding weekend in the Gorge yet this summer. It was great to play a part in the event. While I am sore, I am all smiles with how it all turned out.
Tonia, I still have a check that I need to donate, can it be sent to you or KB4C?
By the way, I want to thank all of the manufacturers and sponsors who helped make this event not only possible, but a major success for KB4C.
I especially want to thank Eclipse and Skywalker for the prizes I won. I just wish I had used that Skywalker board for the derby. It's oh so nice!

What a great event! It was so much fun to be a part of something so special. We had to take a moment to thank our incredible volunteers without which the BBQ never could have happened. Magen Force, Brian Castor, and Jerry Tomasek saved our buns by helping flip burgers all day long. Not to mention the numerous grocery runs by Mira, Amery, Brian, and Janette to replenish our stocks. It wouldn't have been possible without all their help and Slingshot to boot.
Thanks to everyone from the Portland/Gorge area that introduced themselves and made us feel right at home. We hope to see all of you on the water sometime. Everyone was so appreciative which definitely helped us make it through the day!
We are proud to have been a part of this event and show the world what a group of kiteboarders can really do. _________________ Jason Clack
