Huge props to Garrett and Tonia for throwing an insane inaugural event, and to all the different kite companies that ponied up the prizes. I can't imagine how it could have been more successful.

Also a shout out to all the volunteers that made the event successful, especially the women on the buoys taking the numbers and enduring the spray, and the jetski rescue crew Thumb's Up

Finally congrats to Phil and trevor the grand prize winners, nice job both of you

Hopefully this is the first of many to come. Very Happy

It was a blast and it was all going to a good cause. The vibe was truly awesome and it was great to be a part of it. Awesome job by the organizers and volunteers! It was also awesome to see many of the manufacturers and shops donating too!

Very cool day of marathon kiting. Think we all have the sun burns and sore bodies this morning to prove it.

Big props to Tonia, Garrett, all the vols & riders who made it happen!

Still buzzing, what an incredible event. Tonia, Gregg, and Garret... you guys should be so proud! To everyone who volunteered their whole day so the rest of us could just kite, thank you. And to those peeps who are fellow members of the 7 hour club, I hope you are feeling better than me this morning!

Here's what had me super stoked:

- Kiters owning the event site for the day
- The conditions, strong wind all day right from the start
- Duking it out with the man, Cory Roeseler, for 7 hours we were neck and neck!
- The energy of everyone out there cheering us on
- All the money raised for fighting Cancer, incredible!

Thank you thank you thank you...

To ALL the participants, volunteers, sponsors, spectators etc!!!

Just getting up... soo much money to count... We'll post the totals as soon as we have them today or early tomorrow.

So much fun to give away so many kites and boards to such a stoked and dedicated NW kite crew. Our community of kiters is simply AMAZING and we definitely showed the strength of the NWkite community this weekend with what we accomplished.

Thank you all for your hard work, dedication and support for this first KB4C event!!!

Considering it was only four months ago that Gregg, Tonia and I sat in the Houston airport during a long lay-over and came up with idea of a fundraising event that we were hoping would raise maybe $5000 at the most and have a few people show up, I would say- WOW. The success of the event goes to all of you guys who worked hard getting donations, silent auction items and putting in time to make things work. Your effort and enthusiasm totally made it happen Very Happy

The turn out was awesome and everyone who raced my hat is off to you guys and girls- you rock!

We still haven't had a chance to tally all the proceeds yet, but as soon as we do we will post it. But lets say I have little doubt we beat our original goal of $5000 by 10 fold Cool

Thanks from KB4C

What do you think- should we do it again next year?

Wow that was HUGE. Thanks to all the people who helped make a very cool event. Super cool to see Naish, Slingshot, Best, Liquid force, plus a ton of other venders step up.

My favorite part was.... We had the event site all to ourselves. What a way to spend the day! I could get use to that!

Good vibes all around.

Thank you guys for working so hard to get this event going. Best event of the year and the after party was awesome.

Just went to the event site to pick up dunk tank and I talked to a few super nice windsurfers who were giving the kiters big props for raising so much $ They were saying they wished they had a event like Kb4C Thumb's Up

It was amazing for sure, I wish I could have gotten more involved, but I had a hangover to kill and I didn't get out there until 3. Definitely next year when I have some skills!
