FUCK TROPICAL STORMS. I've spent the last week sitting on the beach doing nothing but drinking and getting fat while the storms roll in. Katie and I have caught two underpowered sessions but the low pressure systems keep parking themselves over our heads.
Hit the cable park for a few days, that was fun. |

Hey Forest,
When is the season down in Corpus, SPI?
I am headed to GA in mid Oct and was thinking about hitting SPI the 3th week in OCT.
What do you think my chances are of getting some wind and what kite size should I bring if any?
Thanks for the Info. |

I've been to SPI the last 2 years mid Oct thru mid Nov. pretty much averaged 6 out of 7 days kiting. Used 90% of the time either a 9 or 12 (SLE's) with a day or 2 on a 16. that's usually a great time of year. |

I agree with ColoradoKiter. October is an awesome month down here. Just about any time of year except Jan/Feb are good here. You'll meet lots of people that moved down here just for that reason.
9/12 seems to be the magic number, but some days I wish I had a 16.
Yea, we just laughed at tropical storm Erin as it only brought some rain and minor winds. Dean is looking pretty serious. We're back in Oregon Monday night. |

| Just got home, ah. I got one 10 mile speed down winder before I left. It was pretty cool to stay on one tack and just haul ass parallel to the beach. Other than that, the wind sucked. We were on the wrong side of the storm to get anything out of it. |
