Ok.. about 1 week away from my 2 week trip to HR area and I'm getting pretty damn excited. Been nearly 2 months since I've been able to catch some of the very inconsistent stormy winds around here..

Any good places to recommend for food and drink after the time on the water?

I lived the first 29 years of my life in Oregon (Eugene area) so I'm pretty familiar w/ the Portland metro area but have only passed through the Gorge area.. didn't turn into a wind junkie til I got to Florida..

Bryan

So many to list, but I can start:

-Walking Man Brewery (Stevenson, WA)
-Solstice Cafe (Walking Man on tap) (Bingen, WA)

-I like Walking Man. Very Happy

Chanson is right - both of those places are awesome

In hood river ---

Double Mountian is really good pizza and beer
6th street - classic, good burgers
Dixies ---up in the heights (go up 13th) good southern grub
Crazy Pepper - Awesome drinks, little $$ but the drink are strong
River City - fun bar and has good thai food

6th street bistro in HR also has awesome french onion soup!

There is also really good mexican in HR..someone help me out with the name..its on the west side of the main drag that heads up the hill and to the southern part of the city.

The mexican place in Stevenson also has very good food (north side of road on main drag)

Man, now I'm hungry.

Yeah, it has outdoor seating and is like the one of the first places you hit after you crest the hill. (one should be careful about the 25mph speed limit, it seems like I see po-po every time I drive on that road.

You owe it to your self to hit The Big River Grill on main street in Stevenson. Right across from the Mexi place.

Hey Bleighty, Im headed to Georgia Mid October. When does the wind start to blow in FL. Where should I go? Im planning on heading to St. Augstine. Please Pm me with your recomendations.

Bryan,

I know the name of the famed Mex place in HR they are withholding ( for good reason! ). PM me

another good place for beer w/ a view is full sail brewery

TF: wind doesn't start in georgia? or FL till Oct/ Nov if you are lucky, usually mid Nov starts to rock as the cold FRONTS start to roll thru and go thru till May
