Sad news.... My best to the family.

MOSIER, Ore. (AP) -- A female windsurfer was found unconscious in the Columbia River yesterday near Mosier.

Her identity is being withheld until relatives can be notified.

According to the Wasco County Sheriffs Office, the woman was found floating face-up in the river and bystanders administered C-P-R.

She was transported to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Autopsy results are pending.

That's so sad!
My thoughts go out to her family.
This is just a little reminder of how dangerous windsports really are.
I have often said that the Columbia River takes no prisoners.

After my little incident earlier this week you wont see me kiting without a helmet anymore.

it's a terrible thing when one of your own is lost prematurely. All of my & Joanne's condolences.

If someone finds out, could you please post the time & place of the funeral service?

Mike & Joanne

Its really sad to hear about this incident. Don't make any assumptions just yet though. They are talking about it on iwindsurf, and saying that apparantly it was related to an undiagnosed medical condition. I apologize sincerely for spreading rumor and/or speculating, but I also know something like this can kind of give people mixed feelings about taking to the water. The Hood River News said more details will be given on Saturday. Condolences to her friends and family.

Scary stuff, even if it is due to a medical condition... remember, nobody is invincible. Stay safe out there, y'all.
