Sad news.... My best to the family. MOSIER, Ore. (AP) -- A female windsurfer was found unconscious in the Columbia River yesterday near Mosier. Her identity is being withheld until relatives can be notified. According to the Wasco County Sheriffs Office, the woman was found floating face-up in the river and bystanders administered C-P-R. She was transported to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. This is just a little reminder of how dangerous windsports really are. I have often said that the Columbia River takes no prisoners. They are talking about it on iwindsurf, and saying that apparantly it was related to an undiagnosed medical condition. I apologize sincerely for spreading rumor and/or speculating, but I also know something like this can kind of give people mixed feelings about taking to the water.
