| Any good kiting in the San Diego area during October? I heard Fiesta Island but was wondering if anyone had good info? Thank you! |

| Winds can be a bit more fickle than usually in fall down here, as the summer sea breezes are less frequent. 50/50 chances if you can get a session during a weeklong trip. Fiesta Island and Sail Bay in Mission Bay are good flatwater spots. Tourmaline and Silver Strand State Beach are really the only launches for surf. Bring your big kites (17m or 12+m if foiling). I gave up on kiting down here and only poleboard and windfoil now… got stranded one too many times with my kite down in the water after trying to eek out the last bit of dying wind. |
