Tue Jun 19, 07 6:26 am Man, I have to hit the Coast Today! |

Alright, I have to hit the coast today. I'm moving out to HR in a few days and it will be one of my last opportunities without a two hour drive.
Anyone wanna go along? Don't like riding the coast by myself, but I'll do it anyway. A down-winder would be sweet but I'll settle for just hitting Manzo.
I'll drive, leaving around 1:30PM. |

manzo appears that it hasn't been blowing with its full force recently. yesterday for example. swell is very small today, but long period. check one of the surf cams before you go to see if anything is actually breaking. |

Yea, FlyingElvis has pretty much killed my inspiration to go. Warning me of the dangers of kiting the ocean alone. I really really want a coast session, but he's right, I don't want to go it alone.
Is anyone going out to Sunset anywhere else today?
I really don't care how small or shitty the waves are, I just wanna ride in some salt. |

i'll tie one of those bungy cords (from the other thread) to you, that way if you get in trouble, you'll just bounce back into shore! |

I wanted to hit the coast yesterday, but could get anyone to rally with me so I went to Stevenson and got worked!
I think going the coast alone for the under-experienced (not as savy in the ocean as I am on da river) is not the best idea, but thier is alway the possibility of meeting up with other coasties while you are there.......one can hope anyway.
If the weather holds, I want to hit the coast the last weekend of June. Anybody up for that? |

i don't know. manzo just bounced up. could be on its way, or could be a fluke, but i would watch it. you guys actually worry about safety? crazy. it never feels as good to end a session as when you were kiting alone far offshore. but my time is coming i am sure. still, the highway's more dangerous. |

Kited Manzo on old 12m C all afternoon Monday on 9' surfboard, waves small but wind VERY NICE. 2 other kiters on little TTs, not enough wind for them. 4 windsurfers ripping on big sails (5.5+).
Looks like it just turned on today, I'll be out again on longboard if wind is good. Waves this morning were very small, probably not worth the drive. |
