If you put something over the bungee it will dampen it if breaks.
IE. you always put a Carhardt jacket on your winch line. Its enough to take the intial snap out of the line.

it doesn't sound like too much fun having to walk back after each "session".
how about setting up a ski hill type rope tow with two large pulleys. i'm sure you could somehow power it with the river current and then you could use both directions to get back and forth.
this forum is funny when the wind isn't blowing...

I think the anchor buddy looks like a good option.
as for anchor point...the got lots of logs around. maybe save one from the burn.
looks like a good way to practice handle passes too.

Well at sauvie's, we could set up a pulley on the top of the berm and then a pulley down by the water. then just hook a long rope to a car and they will drive down the parking lot and pull you several hundred yards.

I just heard back form the Anchor Buddy people and they say the breaking point is 1500 lbs. These things cost ~$30 and if we could find a way to hold it in the sand, it would make the "Sauvie Island Wait" more enjoyable.
I was thinking about one of the screw type anchors modified for the sand and the stress. We could also attach it to a sunk'in log. I'm just not sure what is on the Island since it's been a few months since I have been there.

Not sure I would call it Extreme unless the rider let go of the bar and someone was sitting near the attatchement point.

Someone buy the old boat repair place near the Sandbar and put a cable lake in it!

Will you have one by this Saturday? Could be an interesting diversion after the next cleanup
