So my friend and I have taken a vote and we have decided that no matter what it's still not a nice thing to look at. Again good luck with your endeavors. I think what you're doing is commendable.

Your big, ugly, ass! Geez what do u think the picture was of? Your smiling face? Ok, wait, that was your face? Get a life buddy. If you don't know what could be offensive to a child and a woman then your mama raised an idiot.

If you’re referring to the Mark avatar, about the ass hanging out, take a closer look, he is wearing board shorts, that is nothing more than a bar stool.

Yup, you're absolutely right. I should work on my grammar. However, the kids weren't on the internet alone. They were looking for things to do in the community and surrounding areas with me. I never meant the email to be an attack on you, but it wasn't a nice thing to look at.We do wish you luck in your endeavors.
Adam <emailaddress@removed> wrote:
Umm, what is your problem? I'm just trying to do a community service and
help make things safer down at the sandbar. If you don't want your kids
looking at stuff on the internet, don't let the use it. The internet is a
dangerous place in this day and age. Oh ya, and you should work on your
grammar, you might make a little more sense

Gorge.net Classifieds Ad Response: SANDBAR CLEANUP MAY 19th
Im kind of thinking that is you are going to advertise for people to go look
at your website then maybe you should cover your ass so that my kids don't
have to look at it. Is your ass going to be sticking out during cleanup?
We were going to consider helping, but not now. Good luck with things.

I sometimes waste my employers paid hours looking at nwkite, and Mark's avatar has had me worried for months. I can't remember how many times I've had to click away fast when a secretary is walking past my desk. Don't want them to think that I'm kinky or something.
So glad that those are only board shorts, all this time I thought this Mark person was an expositionist/perv.

lmao...... ya, i tried to be pretty cordial to her, except for the grammar remark; it always pays off to be the better person.
on a final note, i did send her another email and said: one sided vote with your friend or not, it is still no excuse for your judgemental attitude and how you treated me. i also told her not to bother reply'ing cause her address was going in my blacklist. i feel sorry for her kids, being raised by a crazy nazi like that one.....

crazy nazi? so much for being the better person.
the avatar is provacative, and it is not too much of a reach to consider it might be offensive to some. tolerance is a door that opens both ways.

It's rather apparent that someone needs to either 1) get a life! or 2) take their afternoon dose of "meds"... or perhaps 3) all of the above

and here i thought i was amongst friends? dont forget i called her a bitch up above too. i'd think that is worse than calling her a crazy nazi.
anyway my mom was a crazy nazi when i was growing up. it is just a term I use to refer to a seriously hard assed mom that rules her kids life. Ya know, the soccer mom type crazy...
did you even read that dialog? what she wrote in her email to me? the worst part is, my name, adam was on the classifieds ad, and clearly, Mark's name is on his avatar so that judgemental freaking lady jumps to assumptions and goes off on me and the names dont even match up. whats up with that? she's crazy thats what.
and the worst part, IMO, is that she tries to justify her behavior and actions by saying her and her friend took a vote, i mean come on, if it is her friend, then the vote is for surely one sided

i believe we are among friends, and as such we take the time to share experiences, usually about kiting, but sometimes about other things.
with respect, there are certain words that evoke so much hate and human suffering that they are ALWAYS inappropriate. the fact that such words may creep into contemporary lexicon says much more about the state of society than it does about the nature of the words themselves.
words have meaning, sometimes powerfully so.
refering to anybody as a nazi, or a bitch for that matter, is a problem. it really doesnt matter if you hold those words as benign.
and mark, again with due respect, do you really want to be responsible, even in a small and unintended way, for other people's suffering?
c'mon guys, you know this stuff in your hearts.

and to note, almost all words have more than one definition, here is the secondary definition of nazi from the webster online dictionary
b: one who is likened to a German Nazi: a harshly domineering, dictatorial, or intolerant person
domineering, dictatorial, & intolerant, is exactly what that lady was.
Anyway, we're just gonna have to agree to disagree, i generally dont get offended by any words.

Jimmi, those are some pretty deep thoughts for a wednesday morning.
As far as the use of the word "Nazi" goes - I do see your point. However, the word is becoming used in America to describe someone who is a hard ass. Take for example the Seinfeld episode regarding the "Soup Nazi" - people are using this term frequently and altering it - I have heard people refer to someone as a "Shoe Nazi" a "Immigration Nazi" and a "Rent a Cop Nazi" all referring to someone who is a hard ass in what they do. So the word is taking on a new life. Should people be using this word so causally when this word has a very powerful origin? I'm not sure about that - but its becoming a part of American vocabulary.
As far as Mark's ass causing people to suffer. HHmmm, OK, the bar stool does look like Mark's ass - so a reasonable person could believe that they are looking at his ass. So maybe this parent doesn't want her child to look at grown men's bare asses (did I just call Mark a grown man?) - so yes, I could see how that could cause a mother some discomfort. However, look over in Europe - bare asses and bare chests (both men and women) are common on television. The human body is not hidden - its not something to be ashamed of - it is revealed in all its glory. America is definately much more conservative on this issue. Children grow up just fine in Europe exposed to asses and tits at a young age. So maybe Mark is trying to make a statement - that we should get over our ultra-conservative attitude towards the human body. If he is trying to make this point shouldn't he be allowed? Isn't this a freedom of speech issue?
Just my thoughts - and Jimmi - again, I respect your opinions and see where you are coming from - I just wanted to add in my two cents.
