Hey!

It's been kind of hard to search through the forums looking for kiters in Eugene. I have been kiting for 4 years in Vancouver BC and Chicago and am now going to be going to school in Eugene (uofO). I am a bit worried about finding other kiters there and wanted to check in, I am sure I will meet most of you in Florence but wanted to introduce myself here first. I hope a 9m will be small enough, and am excited to explore a new spot.

Florence gets crazy sometimes... so I dunno about that 9m depending upon your weight. I'm ~45 mins north of you in Corvallis at OSU and shoot over to Newport/Lincoln City most of the time, where the wind's generally a little lighter.

Well we'll have to keep an eye on the forecast as always. I might buy a 7.5 m boxer for nukin days, but at 165lbs my 9 raven is good up to about 30knots. I bigger winds its better to find a calmer spot get a smaller kite or not go out....its a big ocean it seems.

Great to meet both of you: I'll stay on the forum and be in touch. It looks like there are a few others in the area as well (Alex, pete, john, and regi). I am planning to be down in Eugene to check out the school on Tuesday so maybe I will head over to Florence from there on Wednesday for a quick session if it looks kiteable.

Regi, Pete, John, and I all reside in Eugene. I'll be at the jetty from Tues on next week depending on the wind. Always looking for fresh blood and carpool pals. Get a smaller kite. You will need it. I work at the U and leave straight from work a couple times a week. Give me a call or p.m. me and we can hook up. Dan 541-206-4734
