Mon May 07, 07 7:41 am Water Front Recreation Committee meeting today 4-5pm |

There will be a waterfront recreation comittee meeting today in the expo center conference room from 4pm - 5pm. Some of the items to be discussed is sandbar access from the event site and the possibility of being able to pump kites on the downwind 10% of the event site grass.
CGKA will be present and we will be asking for the right to use the last 10% (40 - 60ft) of the event site for pumping and deflating kites. I encourage anyone with interest in using the event site to attend. |

It's great that CGKA will be there to put forth the official message but if anyone else can make it to show support for the issue it'd be great.
If you've been one of the ones requesting Event Site access then here's the chance to invest some of your own time and do your part to see it through. |

So are you asking for a portion of the Event Site to be sectioned off as a "kite only" area? If not, you might want to ask for clarification, because from what I have heard and seen, pumping up kites on the grass isn't an issue. You can't launch from the Event Site, and you can't have lines on your kite while its on the grass, but inflated kites on the grass and pumping up isn't a problem. Anyone hear/experience differently? |

SL- i think you're on the right track we're just trying to make it official. I dont think we're trying to force it as kite-only section, but that may be what it turns in to; more of just an official spot where we can inflate a deflate/dry our kites. |
