Huuuuuge Day with great swell at the green buoy. I got separated from my strapless surfboard and for the first time in my career couldn't get back to my board. Between the fast current and pounding waves I couldn't make headway to retrieve it. My favorite "stuntman" Joel saved the day and reintroduced me to my board and I put my tail between my legs and scooted home. The current is crazy fast, just below flood stage in Portland. Kite with a buddy!!!!

So good out there yesterday. Nice smooth swell in places, overhead with breaking waves at times. It actually got a bit crowded up by G33 and the white salmon, but it was fun sharing the swell with everyone. Lots of stoke!

The current is intense. I debated straps vs strapless, glad I went with straps so I didn't have to chase my board all day.

Fast. Like he said, if your board gets away upwind, you’ll need help catching it.

Write your info on your stuff, with an offer of rewards. I got two boards back last spring after they went awol. And it wasn’t as much water last year.

Thanks to Chris for rescuing my surf board a couple weeks back. I couldn’t catch it, got good and cold, gave up a body dragged half a mile back to white salmon.

And flow has only increased since then.
