Hey guys, i am wanting to get out on the water and was looking for a good place to learn without getting in other peoples way. I've been land kiting for years so i know how to fly but i am just now getting on the water. Any help would be great. Thanks

go to the hood river sandbar.... rig downwind of everyone else... there are some shallow pools you can play in and won't be in anyone else's way... just don't get into the hood river current.

Sunset Beach North of Seaside. Check out the Spots link at the top of the page.

Sauvie Island is also a good spot with lots of beach upwind of the main launch. Wind is less predicable than HR or the coast though. Makes for a good mid-week evening spot if you live close in....

You might want to consider a water lesson or two. It can really help you get up and riding fast.

Good luck and be safe!! ~Onad

And there's always the weekend excursion to floras lake. Flat water, much quieter than the gorge, and typically not as gusty. Just a long ways away from P-town is the problem.
