I see Dakine is releasing a new sliding spreader bar based on rope instead of webbing. This was available at the recent Surf Expo.
Anyone know where I can buy one?

It's called the Option. Sliding bar using rope with the ability to lock it out to make the hook stationary. Also an attachment spot for BRM riders. And the hook rotates vertically. Really well thought out and haven't heard of any issues with the pre-production models. Check with your favorite Dakine shop for shipment arrival date.

Option to lock hook in place or let it slide. It also rotates vertically for less bar pinch when kite is really high. Sliding mode at Ft. Stevens, Oregon Coast and locked-in mode at Hood River Slider Park. Option bar with C-1 harness.
