I am from PDX and usually kite HR and Jones. Any advice on kite spots near Seattle? I'm going to be up in the area next weekend (9/10) and thought I would camp and kite. Any good websites for forecasts as well? Something like kite the gorge except for Seattle area? _________________ Stephen Hansen |

seattle has some pretty good kiting. not sure what your quiver is but you will most likely be riding a larger kite like 12m/14m kite.
on northerlies, there's jetty island up in everett.
on southerlies, you can enjoy in town kiting like at richmond beach and on lake washington.
I was up last saturday and had a great day on the lake in 14m conditions.
as for forecast, there is no human forecasting like the gorge (windalert and temira) but you can check in on the marine weather forecasts.
http://www.atmos.washington.edu/data/marine_report.html
look for at least a 10-15 knot forecast for puget sound and hood canal.
for jetty island, look at admiralty inlet forecast.
my advice is to go to pskite.org or the northwest kiteboarders FB page for more local information. _________________ www.jimstringfellow.com |

skip both and come to Vancouver Island!!
the west coast is great and the local spot in Victoira at Cook St is awesome on a good westerly!
bigwavedave.ca is best for our area! |
