First off, it should be noted that this has been one of the busiest summers for kiting, windsurfing and SUPing at the Event Site ever.
Things have been going pretty smoothly considering the amount of congestion and users, so big props to everyone for keeping it safe and fun out there.
NOW, on to the good stuff.
It's officially an official warning for anyone kiting or throwing tricks inside the white buoys (and in front of the Event Site Beach), the Port and the Sheriffs office will be tracking repeat offenders and following up with them directly with warnings and/or citations.
Due to the increased level of bad behavior, the Water Patrol Sheriff will be establishing a regular patrol either on the water or the beach to be tracking individuals who are repeatedly breaking these rules or appearing to put others either in harms way, or in a manner not generally acceptable.
As usual, to ensure that we do not have a few people spoil the situation for the greater good of all the rest of the kite community, the CGKA will be working directly with the Port to identify offenders either in person, or via photos.
Yes, this may sound stupid to a few of you, but, well, yes... it is stupid. Stupid people make the rest of us have to do stupid things to keep the peace and protect our access.
If ever there were a time to speak up and say something to an offender that you see doing this, now is the time.
Let's show the Port that we can manage our beach and our riders as a community.
